When you watch a remake of an outstanding movie with some mind-blowing twist in the end and some amazing cinematography and acting, you already have your expectations at the next level. To be really fair, I was awestruck after watching "An invisible guest" and the effect it left after, but I still watched Badla with a neutral mind and gave it a genuine try. But at the end, I felt I just saw a translated version of it's original. It's a screen by screen copy paste along with 90 percent of the dialogues. The only change was the gender. Come on Ghosh ji, use some of your creativity. Why would you just remake the movie exactly the same. Remake doesn't mean copy paste. For instance, look at Don. That's a fab remake, it not only gave justice to it's predecessor but also took it to a different level. For those of you who liked Badla, just watch it's original and you will understand my super disappointment.

Badla is a remake of 'The invisible guest'. Starring legendary Amitabh, Tapsee Pannu, Amrita Singh and others this movie is bang for your bucks. The story line is totally gripping which glues you to the screen. The performances by actors, as expected were excellent complementing this wonderful story. You will be engrossed in the powerful characters and flowing story line. Interval bang is highlight and you'd wish there is no interval. Amitabh plays as lawyer and everything about him was excellent right from acting to dialogue delivery and timing. Tapsee has done a fabulous job with her skills. She plays a young married entrepreneur role. It's not a regular Bollywood flick, go and enjoy the drama, suspense and amazing story coupled with excellent acting from the cast.

As a whole, Badla is one of the finest thriller made in bollywood with magic of illusional truth. You keep asking for turnaround moments and film responds quickly to your requests. The Mahabharata characters reference works on upper side, generating little bit more interest. This one is a Sujoy Ghosh trademark film and should not be missed if you like quality films, especially in thriller genre. This one would have been a classic if the first half would have supported enough.

This is clearly an exact duplicate of the spanish movie, the Invisible Guest and the Director barely made a change except the names, the language and the genders. Every dialogue, plot, scene was very similar. Even the summaries read the same in google and Wikipedia. When you are doing a remake, that doesn't mean you should just copy everything and paste it all as a new movie. If you have already watched the invisible guest, skip this. If it weren't for Amitabh Bachchan, people would understand. Surprised that this got 90 lakhs.

I was the last person to get a ticket in the front seat n it’s after ages I saw a movie that was absolutely housefull. The name spells it all- A murder mystery propelled by revenge. If u liked Dhrisyam this one is ur cup of tea n the climax blows u as who or what u thought was not what was shown to u.. It is interesting to see Mahabharata being quoted quite a few times in the movie as the solutions in life are mostly found in the deeper meaning of vedas n mythology. Movie introduces Amitabh as a hot shot lawyer who is the last bet of Tapsee who has been framed in the murder of her lover, lover because it’s an extra marital affair. The movie plays with you for quite a lot of time building the story, characters, permutations n combinations that make it interesting. As u get to know then n pin out people, the mystery oscillates n points in a different direction as a powerful movie should do. Performances are undoubtedly the reason people flocking to theatres as u have 2 powerhouses of talent from 2 generations -Big B and Tapsee. Amrita Singh is a delight to watch and she should do more films. Overall, an interesting watch n if u keep ur benchmark as Dhrisyam where u kinda know the story but wanna discover the loops within.

Badla is a crime thriller which revolves around Amitabh Bacchan and Tapsee Pannu in lead roles. Naina Shetty(tapsee)is a big business woman who has been in a relationship with a man named Arjun(Tony Luke) but keeps it as a secret from her family. However later she decides to give up the affair when the entire incident crops up. Naina who was returning home was driving a car and it suddenly came across a deer and slashed another car against a tree. On going they found the victim named Sunny dead who was apparently texting and was without a seatbelt. Naina took the car apart a decided to throw it in a river just to hide the clue lest they would fall in serious trouble.There was also a witness,a driver who was later seen to be instructed to be quite by paying a heavy amount. The story begins with a famous lawyer Badal Gupta(A.B.)who was appointed by a college friend of Naina came 3 hrs in advance to get all the details out of Naina. But Naina kept on saying lies and told the entire story in her favour and pushed up all the blames towards a "blackmailer"who she says to be Rani Kaur, mother of Sunny who happened to guess that she was the culprit behind her son's death. The story has been narrated thrice taking different suspects and criminals but finally Tapsee falls in a trap apparently placed by Rani and........I think this should not be told or else the entire story would be given up. However the last part is truly absurd and makes no sense at all. It appears bogus but the acting is what is highly appreciable and keeps the movie very strong throughout exept the last part which is not expected from the "Pink" duo.

Absolute beauty of a story... The direction is pretty good. AMITABH BACCHAN is MARVELLOUS as always. I actually watched this only because of amitabh sir and not gonna lie he still has his charm and did a fantastic job. The movie is thrilling and it has that suspense factor. Expect yourself to be at the edge of the seat while watching it.

Badla has hugely familiar leads, and the casting of at least one of them allows Ghosh to deliver a weak and unconvincing coup de grace. Taapsee Pannu is unable to summon up the blank canvas onto which all manner of possibilities can be projected, while Amitabh Bachchan hops on the gravitas train for the nth time. The gender swap allows for a meaty role for Amrita Singh, who deftly plays a key character, and her presence, along with that of Tony Luke, work strongly in the movie’s favour and helps it along its pretzel-shaped journey.

This mystery thriller keeps you at the edge of ur seat geting you curious and you explore every possible angle to the story but the climax blows your mind and proves every theory and possibility you had in your mind to be wrong. Performance by the legendery Amitabh Bacchan keeps the audience gripped , what fails for the movie is its slow pace and most of the film being a verbal on chair discussion unfolding the mystery through discussions.

The most basic ingredient for a good movie - is a good story.Add to that Amitabh and Tapsee in good roles and delivering the best acting and you have an edge of the seat thriller.Hard to find fault with this movie and I looked hard.The only thing maybe,was the very last part of the end - it was over the top.

Really enjoyed to see the Amitabh Bachchan and Tapasee Pannu together again after Pink. This movie is a Thriller Drama as it is described. This movie contains many twists in the plot and these twists excites the audience. Sometimes it is very predictable as now audience has seen many movies like this but overall the movie contains very enjoying story. Real thriller and dramatic movie it is.

Top Class !! Must Watch !! Badla revolves around a successful business woman Naina Sethi (played by Taapsee) who is accused of murdering her lover. The character of her high profile lawyer Badal Gupta who has never lost a case in his 40 year illustrious career is essayed by Amitabh Bachchan. While Naina is out on bail, she sees Gupta, who is personally recommended by her trusted lawyer friend, at her home as she can't afford to lose the case. Gupta is a master at preparing witnesses but his only condition is that he must know the whole truth as only then will he be able to put up a strong defense in the court.

While we make a guess who would be the murderer, the result is quite different in the end. Tapsee has performed her role really well in this movie. Its is a much watch movie overall

If you have missed a mystery thriller from long time then its time to get on ride with this movie... I have loved Ajay devgan Drishyam but since that movie i feel it must be the mile stone in terms of content.... Tapsee & Bachhan saab were too good to be true... whole movie will keep you on edge... Definitely must watch...
