This is not a material that I want to watch personally on the big screen but I will support it because they're using the platform of a movie to highlight this massive abuse of power.
2019 had come and gone but some of the movies from yesteryear have yet to come to our shore, with this aforementioned film and 1917 as a couple of examples. The feature itself is solidly made to cover the whole 'scandal' from top to bottom but the main reason I bought the ticket is because of all the buzz surrounding the performances of the actresses, especially Charlize Theron.
Wait, was she in it? I thought that was really Megyn Kelly and couldn't catch a glimpse of the actress at all! I want to highlight her ability to go through a complete transformation just like that. The other supporting actors have their own moments as well, with Margot Robbie's breakdown outside the restaurant a definite scene to remember. Watch it for performance, I implore you.
Oh, there will be a lot of names and characters that would be thrown around throughout and while a passing knowledge of the American political media scene would be tremendously helpful, I think it's not essential because they're there to portray Ailes' influence over his workers and how the controversy affect each of them differently. It was told adeptly but I understand if you feel a bit out of sorts with all the names to keep tab on.
I'm just really hoping that Charlize would at least be recognized for her achievement in this movie. At least something good would come out of this.

Bombshell is a good movie and most important it's a real story of women in fox news standing up against the boss who has sexually harassed many female employees to prove their loyalty, and they work together to destroy him. This movie could have even been better but the story twisted somewhat. Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margret Robbie has done an excellent job. Cameo was better but plot was twisted.

Bombshell is inside look of sexual harrasment at the workplace that is fox news in this movie. Move is somewhat twisted and overplayed actings but doesn't deter it for being a good film. Trio actresses has done good job. Charlize Theron acting is great and proves she is one of best actress in hollywood. Cinematography was good and plot was such you will not get bored. Overall a good movie.

The characters are complex and the depth of the issue is treated with sophistication. Charlize Theron, John Lithgow, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie were amazing! Charlize Theron did have some prosthetics, but minimal. What was so incredible about her performance was her voice, cadence, mannerisms. She, totally, transformed into Megyn Kelly. Charlize Theron is absolutely BRILLIANT. Lithgow was hideously vile. The physical transformation and the embodiment of Ailes was astounding. Nicole Kidman is unrecognizable as Gretchen Carlson, who she portrays with marvelous sympathy and grit. Margot Robbie played a composite of several Fox News debutants, if you will. Her innocent enthusiasm, devastation, and ultimate strength was incredible. All four were spectacular in their roles .

Bombshell can be seen as a slap in the face to wake up the people who have yet to understand the amounts of stress women involved in politics and media constantly go through. This compelling story displayed just how close your allies can be in the face of despair and the empowerment of the #MeToo movement.Director Jay Roach lured this film with dramatic close ups and constant camera movement to the subject at matter much like a sitcom. This helped us gain the focus as scenes were shot out like arrows showing the arrogance of the Republican Party for the 2016 presidential race.

This is a must watch flim. Jay Roach's interesting filmmaking about the true events of 2016 TV Fox, just before Trump was elected for president, when Fox News chief Roger Ailes was fired on a base of sexual harassment charges. It should be noted first of all the excellent acting, but with this kind of casting (Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie), we did not expect anything less. It was also nice to see Malcolm McDowell at the end of the movie as well, after a long time acting in something that is not a third-grade accomplishment.

This movie deserves an oscar. It’s nearly impossible to address a topic like sexual harassment while avoiding taking a point of view. By trying to maintain a fair and balanced perspective, “Bombshell” remains frustratingly superficial on a topic that deserves much deeper exploration. This film examines the end of the Roger Ailes era at Fox News, a period during which anchor Gretchen Carlson sued the network for sexual harassment when she was fired. After the suit was announced, the film depicts on-air-personality Megyn Kelly’s internal debate on whether to go public about her own brushes with Ailes.

A good film with excellent performances. Going into the movie, everyone needs to be aware that it is largely told from the three female leads perspectives. It is not an anti Fox News movie, but tells the story of Theron, Kidman, and Robbie's characters experience at Fox News. The movie deals with many major stories from 2015 and 16 and contains many Fox News figures past and present. It relies on viewers knowing who they are for those scenes to really sink in. I think the film could have sunk deeper into the culture at Fox News and why so many people were unwilling to defect on Roger Ailes.Conservatives in general are quick to defend white male figures who are accused of harassment and continue to support a president who has been accused of sexual indecency by over a dozen women. The movie misses that chance to really dig deep and explore those questions and the general hypocrisy of the evangelical right. Overall it was entertaining and contained tremendous performances across the board.

Director Jay Roach weaves together an intriguing and sometimes hard to stomach story that is punctuated by some truly stunning performances by some of the best actresses working in Hollywood today. The cast is all around great. You'll probably be surprised by some of the faces that pop up here. Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman are great in this. John Lithgow delivers one of the best roles of his career as Roger Ailes, managing to portray a loathsome creep while also making it seem natural how he manages to command loyalty among his employees and allies.

I feel like the film could go deeper into making a statement although I was fine with what we got. At times it felt like the film was more interested in showing the real life correspondents being portrayed briefly, rather than going in depth into characterization. Not a bad film but feel like it wanted to be more and I also wanted more from it. Not sure its going to make awards buzz outside of Theron and Robbie's performances.

The film is based on the story of the accounts of women who worked at Fox News and the allegations that came out against Fox News CEO, Roger Ailes. A movement that is led by seasoned television host Gretchen Carlson, after her firing from the company. She is soon joined by other women including Megyn Kelly. The film has a really great cast including Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, and John Lithgow. Jay Roach returns after a brief hiatus in film making to bring this effort.

I found the story very interesting, but I think it was absolutely impossible to fit all the interesting details that actually help you to comprehend the story in 1.5 hours movie. In TV Show "The loudest Voice" you get to live the story through. You actually see what kind of person RA was, especially towards women. For me it was TV show of a year. So, the movie for me felt way too short and way too fast. It's hard to follow and understand what was actually going on. It was like watching on rewind. The acting was fantastic, I think everyone did a great job, but the story was too superficial. Not deep enough for my taste.

Based on true events of 2016, when Fox News founder Roger Ailes was charged with a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment. All characters look really real. Movies keeps you engaged thruout, enjoyed it thoroughly. A very good script very well directed and superbly acted by Chalize Theron as Megyn Kelly and John Lithgow as the Roger Ailes.Bombshell shows how hard it was for Megyn to come forward. And all the things she had to consider after her clash with Trump. Quite illuminating to see her dilemma.

The three Bombshell blondes were great, as were the rest of the cast. The biopic story itself very interesting, but the constant "fast-zooms" were annoying and so yesterday. Let The Office keep those annoying zoom-ins. The rest of the directing and camera work was sub-par for such a production. The screenplay was so all over the place, that either it was really terrible, or the editing was terrible, especially towards the beginning.Charliez Therone acting was fantastic. They way Margot robbie cried on call during a date stole the show.

The story is inspiring and it delivers a knowledge on history, and what we should be thankful for. I think in real life, that case has somehow affected a "Me too" movement as well, and in the long run would have affected the way people look down on women on some area of work. The scenes move smoothly without offering confusion. The acting levels are guaranteed thanks to the casts. Cinematography is beautiful.

The movie fast and intelligible. The cast does an amazing job playing their real life personas, adding humorous twists in various aspects of the film.Incredible story line and well written enough to impact men and support women on the creepiness and long term impact of sexual harassment. Very heroic on many levels as it brings to light the outcomes viewed and reported though the media. The dynamic on the trade off of possibly losing ones career or popularity in exchange for doing the right thing for others. Great women stand up for themselves, greater women stand up for other women. In the ME culture it's nice to know there are real humans willing to put everything on the line for others and together do the perceived impossible.

Denver and Delilah's movie "Bombshell" (Jay Roach Director) perfectly blends culture, power politics, and justice with wit and suspense. Charleze Theron's Megyn is mesmerizing and totally believable; Nicole Kidman is unrecognizable as Gretchen Carlson, who she portrays with marvelous sympathy and grit. Margot Robbie is amazing and graceful as newbie aspiring star Kayla. John Lithgo as Roger Ailes gives a brilliantly nuanced Shakespearean performance, delivering sterling lines from the smashing script. Charles Randolph's writing, and the casting of supporting roles are superb. A highly entertaining film with more than a few revelations of truth too long concealed.

Bombshell was an excellent movie with outstanding performances from Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman. The storyline hit home with a lot of women who have been harrassed on the job by their male and sometimes female superiors. Charlize Theron stole the show when she decides to support a distant colleague played by Nicole Kidman. Theron's harrasment case went public to support many women who had been harrassed on the job. Nicole Kidman was overwhelming grateful with Theron's decision that was noticeable at the end of the movie when the two women eyes meet in agreement in passing

This is director Jay Roach's great fact-based drama. It is based on Fox News allegations of sexual misconduct. This movie shows how women are sexually harassed and pressured in the workplace. The movie has a great discussion about sexuality and it will surely catch the attention of the viewers. This story is from a colleague of Fox News anchor Megan Kelly who initially struggles to talk, worried it's going to jeopardize her career but eventually launches her own lawsuit. Contrary to what seems to be the opinion of most of the people who reviewed the movie, I thought the movie was an obvious hit piece against Fox News, that inadvertently made the women bringing these complaints looks appallingly bad, in particular Megan Kelly. Basically the movie attempts to depict Kelly, Carlson and a fictional young woman destroying Roger Ailes who is depicted as an enfeebled, fat, very sick, hemophiliac on IV therapy, reduced to a walker to get out of a chair. There was a time in America when sick enfeebled old men or women were beyond attack. Their failings were overlooked and ignored because it was understood that people like this are beyond that kind of criticism. No so much now. The movie gives one just line grudgingly said by Kelly acknowledging Ailes’ acts of loyalty and kindness to multiple people over the years. It admits that after unsuccessfully propositioning her 10 years before, Ailes advised, promoted and advanced her to the top anchor position in the Fox lineup. Yet, never forgetting or forgiving, she delivers the final blow that edges him out. To me, the movie came off as a woke hit piece that attempted to depict these women as heroically courageous but in reality was nothing more than the depiction of bringing down the man who had elevated them but was now a old sick man well past his prime who could no longer adequately defend himself. Nothing there to be proud of.
