Ludo Is the multi starrer anurag basu directed Netflix original film. If you are not a fan of musicals this film is not for you, however if u love multiple storylines coming together in the end then LUDO is for you. The film has a very fast paced editing and you have to pay attention every single second in order to keep up with the storyline, also there are certain scenes that appear to be over edited where multiple storylines progress in the same frame. The main quality of the film that stand out is its writing. Also the starcast delivers an awesome performance in acting .

Ludo is one of the best movies of 2020. Anurag Basu's direction with right selection of cast made the movie very interesting. The movie deals with the real life of ordinary people who have their own problems and how they change just like the LUDO game. The dialogues and screenplay keeps us glued to screen. It has the mix of all emotions in the 140-150 mins long film. Pankaj Tripathi's action as Sattu Bhaiya is excellent in this film.

As unpredictable as a game of Ludo itself is Anurag Basu’s (Ludo). It's Hands Down one of the best Bollywood films of 2020. 5 Divergent stories beautifully embedded into a single narrative. With four key players and one man, Sattu Bahiya (Pankaj Tripathi) a local gangster rolling the dice, Ludo is a crazy rollercoaster adventure with impressive performances. It's a Brilliant Dark comedy with Spellbinding writing & masterful direction by Anurag Basu. He is truly the King when it comes to making Anthology Films. All the characters are very interesting and the manner in which the different tracks intersect is totally unpredictable. Hence, despite the long length (150 minutes), it keeps you hooked. As the name suggests, it's exactly like a Ludo game, every character's (Dress and surroundings) is described as the colour of each Ludo house. A true cinephile will understand and get the gist of the film immediately

Firstly Much appreciation to director. Love the way he shown different stories and connected at the end. That's a brilliant one. Secondly, actors did a brilliant performance and nailed it. Pankaj, Abhishek, aditya, rajkumar Rao, rohit, and the heroines. Much love... Never even got bored at single frame. The kid (Inayat Verma) acting is so natural and her expressions are cute. Comedy is above average. Emotions are well shown. When abishek meets his kid and the way she rejects to see him & the way Abhishek shown the emotions are truly heart touching. Loved it totally !! Kudos to whole team

The movie is definitely a gem. In Bollywood I don't expect the movie with such a brilliant story idea. 5 different stories moving on and each of them intersecting each other randomly but some where interconnected to each other. The fun factor is eminent all through the movie. And the fulfilling end finally gives us the feeling of dessert after a good dinner. I could not understand why some people found the story confusing or illogical. Editing of the movie is as good as the story line and keeps the viewer interested for more. And the song "Aabaad Barbaad" by Arijit feels superb in the movie plot.

Ludo is an adventurous rollercoaster of four wild divergent stories into a single narrative, which answers the questions of ‘Karma and Dharma’. Basu has intelligently done crisscrossing of the characters, just like we see while playing the board game ludo. He is a multi-tasker in the movie, and he has perfectly balanced between ‘Kabhi naram naram, kabhi garam garam’ like in the song ‘O Beta Ji’ that comes at the starting of the movie. The ensemble cast has provided us with a high degree of performance. Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Bachchan, and Raj Kumar Rao steal your heart all over again. Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Khan, Rohit Saraf, Pearle Manney are delightful and mind-blowing with their neat performances. And how can we forget to mention a wonderstruck combination of Pritam and Arijit Singh, ‘Aabaad Barbaad’ and ‘Hardum Humdum’ are so refreshing melodies in the movie. We are blessed to have singers like Arijit Singh who bring out the freshness of the songs so beautifully. Listening to Arijit’s warm and soft vocals after so long feels fresh. In a nutshell, Ludo is a feel-good dark comedy with refreshing music, credible acting, and quirky elements.

Entertaining movie. Very well written, Great screenplay. Lots of thoughts have gone into the movie. Consists of Independent stories all happening in same time makes it interesting to watch. Acting was good, characters were good. I specially liked characters played Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Others were also equally good. Only downside I found is, it is slightly longer. Definite watch for any movie-lover or anyone who is looking for entertainment.

Funny and violent at the same time. Stories intersecting, overlapping leading to other stories. Stellar performances by all. Abhishek, one of India's most underrated actors, gives another flawless performance. Pray that someone gives him his due. Pankaj Tripathi, Anurag Basu, Siddharth Malhotra, Sanya, Fatima, the new faces of Uday, Asha, Pearle and Rohit. On point casting. Thank you Anurag for another masterpiece.

If you want to see a comedy movie, you can watch Ludo movie with your family. The performances of Abhishek Bachchan and Rajkumar Rao are good enough. In this movie, many characters are shown with various joys and sorrows. There is nothing to be said about Pankaj Tripathi's acting though - much higher as acting. However, director Anurag Basu has brought such a movie for the viewers after a long time. The movie is too entertaining to watch with family member. Ujjwal posted a review for Ludo (2020) in Movies
Ludo is by far the best movie of 2020 with a spellbound script , crisp editing and with spectacular performances from the ensemble cast. Anurag Basu is back again with his forte of portraying the characters in the most realistic n subtle manner. When it comes to anthology movies he is the Boss and good to see him back with a bang after Jagga Jassoos which too was a great movie but perhaps ahead of its time and difficult for the audience to accept it. This time Basu who has also credited with the screenplay and cinematography is in-form and the way the story unfold with proper color to showcase the characters life. It amze me how Basu with his editor has made a sleek editing the story so gripping without any loose ends. I will not disclose the story much but how the story of 4 people gets interwoven with one common thread its something worth to watch out for. The music is so soothing to the ears. Thanks to some soulful rendition of the songs without adding auto tune or some unwanted raps or cheeky lines. Pritam is at his best and the Basu pritam duo creates a magic and how Basu use the music and songs to move the story ahead. What I like the most is use of the 1950 song from Albela which even though was tuned to match recent temperament but Pritam kept the original track. Abhishek Bachchan is spectacular. With minimal dialogues Bachchan deliver a very splendid performance by emoting mostly through his eyes. After Ajay Devgan its Abhishek who can emote through his eyes. There is one scene particularly where Abhishek completely owns the screen with his performance. His chemistry with Inayat is great and perhaps the best story out of the four.Abhishek is having a good year and his resurgence is something to talk about with back to back great performance in Breathe and now ludo. Rajkumar Rao is hilarious and flawless. He excels the character and it actually reminds me of one of my friends who used to be a great Mithun fan. His comic timing is impeccable and this man can do anything. The real show stealer is Pankaj Tripathy. Is there anything this man cannot do ? He got the maximum screen timing and is in great form. I wonder how he plays every character with this ease. He played don in Mirzapur and now in ludo however i can bet one can hardly find any resemblance to both the characters. He has some of the great punchlines an? his comic timing is brilliant.Basu very cleverly gave the best and difficult part to someone of this caliber. Aditya roy kapur and Rohit Saraf have done a decent job. Sanya is cute. Pearly and Fatima are good too. This movie is a must for those who like dark comedy. Watch it for Pankaj tripathy, Abhishek bachchan and rajkumar rao.

Ludo is a really good movie. It's beautifully interwoven web of comedy of errors. It has a stellar starcast with AB jnr, Rajkumar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapoor Pankaj Tripathi and a really good support cast. But at the core of Ludo is all heart. Every story is wonderful in its own sense. The humor is at times subtle, at times laugh-out-loud and at times at the most unexpected junctures. Anurag Basu is back at it where he replaces the background narration with background music which sets the tone and tempo of each scene. Basu also manages to get his actors to act without saying much which is a rare feat. Every single actor has performed almost flawlessly. I would have liked it if all the character back stories were explored as opposed to just ARK's story. Wonderful, emotional and funny movie with great background score and amazing acting. Just don't go looking for logic.

Anish posted a review for Ludo (2020) in Movies
Anurag Basu's 'Ludo' which blends in characters, stories and genres starts off with a grisly murder by Sattu Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi). Then, as parallel stories and characters emerge, so do some varying situations.Akash (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and Ahana (Sanya Malhotra) find themselves in a pickle when they discover that a video clip of them having sex has gone viral on the internet. With Ahana's wedding scheduled in a few days to another man, they try to get to the bottom of this. On the other hand, an ex-convict, Bittu (Abhishek Bachchan) is released from jail after six years only to realise that his wife and little daughter have moved on. At the same time, when a doting wife, Pinky(Sana Fatima Shaikh) finds out that her husband has been accused of a murder, she runs to her childhood sweetheart, Alok aka Alu (Rajkummar Rao) to help bail him out. And elsewhere, a down on luck salesman, Rahul (Rohit Saraf) and a nurse who is repeatedly bullied at work, Sheeja (Pearle Maney) go about their respective days, not knowing that soon their lives will take a dramatic turn. At the onset, 'Ludo' seems to strike with an interesting premise. The catchy opening track, a compelling start and a quirky build up manages to set an intriguing tone. Then, as the multiple characters get introduced with the spotlight on each backstory one by one, slowly fitting into pieces of a puzzle - the pace unfortunately begins to ebb. And that would be one of the biggest drawbacks of the film because as it tries to fit in all the stories and characters, the narrative begins to get overstuffed. So before one can wholly invest in a character, the thread is left to move on to another. And that too at a languid pace, with a narrator (Anurag Basu) making an appearance to stitch it all together and ponder on morality and the tussle between what constitutes sins and virtues. The cinematic treatment, however, has some trademark Basu signatures - the hues of blues and reds, the play of light and shadow setting the visual tone (cinematography - Anurag Basu). There is a dollop of dark comedy, a helping of sweet romance and some varied characters inadvertently thrown in the middle of it all. The background score and soundtrack (Pritam), undoubtedly perk up the proceedings. The ensemble cast deliver some credible performances - Pankaj Tripathi is reliably good and it's obvious he enjoyed playing the badass criminal to the hilt. Rajkummar Rao's Mithun fan avatar is a hoot and he brings an endearing touch to it without getting hammy. Abhishek Bachchan makes an impact as Bittu. Fatima Sana Shaikh as the part docile, part trigger happy Pinky, is a revelation. Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapoor hold their own well with some cutesy moments in their romance. Rohit Saraf with minimal dialogues but an interesting track stands out. And Pearle Maney leaves quite an impression. 'Ludo' has some moments that sparkle, some that are edgy, quirky and stay with you, but it also has some indulgent ones and some that seem pointless and unconvincing. The screenplay (Anurag Basu) gets scattered and meanders mid-way but if one can ride over those bumps (with a runtime of two and a half hours that may seem like a tad much), the climax ties everything up rather neatly, with some quintessential badass quotient and surprises thrown in. Watch this one for the noteworthy performances and its interesting mix of morally ambiguous characters. Ultimately 'Ludo' tries to make a larger point about not judging anyone for the choices they make.

Excellent work by Abhishek bacchan and Rajkumar Roa. Story develops at nice pace.. comedy is decent. It is a visual treat to watch. It's background music and songs also enhances the movie. Acting from each and every actor is good especially the little girl. It has a very unique concept and I liked the ending. So above were all the pros and now moving on to cons. The biggest con in its slow pace it feels that sometimes it's being dragged away. Second con is not that big but it needs to be addressed is that it's cinematography sometimes looks overexposed.

Amazing performances by each and every actor. Abhishek Bachchan's acting was top notch loved till the end. RajKumar rao as always took his role into a different level and Pankaj Tripathi just wow. Four stories, each having their own perspective of right and wrong which eventually collides together to unravel the mysteries and how each are interconnected. An excellent screenplay and fabulous direction by Anurag Basu which will keep audience in their toes with also lot to laugh about regularly. The casting has been fabulous and each character has justified their role with utmost sincerity and perfection. Not many songs in this drama but overall sound and bgm is on point. You will fall in love with the story, and entertainment with satisfaction is guaranteed. One of the best movies in 2020.

Great story and over the mark performances by entire cast. This is an anthology, four short stories linked together. Pankaj Tripathi's screen presence is more engaging that anybody else's in the movie. While some stories are not that good, overall movie is definitely one time watch. Rajkumar Rao is good in his different avatar this time. Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapoor have pulled up their respective roles pretty well. Pearley Maaney has done justice to her role, even though her dialogues are very less.

I don't expect too much after watching the trailer. Now talking about the movie, the writing of Ludo is very good, but screenplay is little confusing. Yet there will be no problem as Anurag himself is there to explain you. Some moments are really very nice, specially when 2 stories are colliding. Cinematography is brilliant. The character of Rajkumar Rao shines the most. Abhishek Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh & Little Inayat Verma also gave very good performance. The song 'O Beta Ji' will remain with you. Finally, Ludo succeeds to leave a smile on your face.

LUDO begins in an interesting manner as all the main characters are presented by two mysterious, Ludo-loving men. It takes a while to comprehend how each of them are related to each other and it becomes clear as the film progresses. Sadly, not all tracks work equally. The Aditya Roy Kapur-Sanya Malhotra track is the most interesting. The circumstances which compel them to be together and their conversations make for an interesting watch. The Abhishek Bachchan track is the weakest of all and simply doesn’t work. The Pankaj Tripathi story commences on a rocking note. But it loses steam once he gets admitted into the hospital. Also, the way he manages to escape death everytime is too hard to digest, even in a quirky film like this. The Rajkummar Rao-Fatima Sana Shaikh track has its share of interesting moments but is also unconvincing. Rajkummar’s sacrificial nature should have ideally made us teary-eyed but that doesn’t happen. Lastly, the Rohit Suresh Saraf- Pearle Maaney story is bland, except for some occasional quirky moments.

The film just starts from somewhere just like a Tarantino film with no real early insight on what is happening . We are slowly given birth to its world and what is really special about its film is its execution . The execution is unique and it keeps you hooked to the story . The film is rightly named as Ludo as it shows so many parallels with the board game . The ending scene of the film is extremely symbolic if you think about it . Pankaj Tripathi is just phenomenal in his role . He is calm minded yet violent and thats what i liked so much about the character. His character is much like Bob Biswas in Kahaani . Rajkumar Rao is as usual fabulous with his acting and the female leads did put forth commendable performances . Abhishek Bachchan is truly a gem for Indian cinema ... He has so much potential but yeah he shouldn't be compared with his father cause he is so much different .. overall the film is really good and unique with superb direction from Anurag Basu . Probably one of the best films of bollywood this year till now .
