Mumbai saga is finally a kind of picture that I was looking for. Emran Hashmi and John Abraham in one frame terrific combination. I was taken back to the days of once upon a time and shootout at Wadala. This movie is a must watch for people who really want to connect to the reality of crimes and politics. The actors nailed it and also Kajal Aggarwal was given an extremely different role and she managed it so perfectly I think ending was quiet incomplete, unclear and predictable.
If you have watched shoutout at Lokhandwala, shoutout at wadala or even dus kahaniyan for that matter, you would have easily made out from the trailer that this film has nothing new. Mumbai, the gangsters, the police, the politics that's all shown in the conventional manner. Though actors strive to perform, there is little interest due to no story at all. Avoid watching this. Watch "A Wednesday" on Netflix instead that is how thrillers should be written.
Mumbai Saga is a waste. There is a gangster similar to Maniya Surve as seen on 'Shootout At Wadala'. A politician backs him up to become the new top gangster of the town and was killed at the end by a cop just like Maniya Surve. Nothing new. Completely fictional characters. Beginning the action was cool but as the movie reaches the interval, it becomes clear that the director wants to kill the gangster. So, no point in watching the movie. Just save your time and money for some other movies.

Mumbai Saga is not an acting oriented film so all they had to do is keep the swag alive while delivering the massy dialogues. John Abraham as Amartya is physically terrific and delivers the dialogues with smashing attitude. The same is followed by Emraan Hashmi who doesn't match the physical attitude of John but still packs a solid punch with conversational dhaasu dialogues. However, the acting is not that good to be noticed and wasn't even expected at first place. The supporting cast is okay and well supported by Kajal Aggarwal, Rohit Roy, Mahesh Manjrekar, Gulshan Grover, Amol Gupte, Prateik Babbar and cameo of Suniel Shetty.
If you like gritty gangster dramas packed with brawn, blood and bullets which i like then ‘Mumbai Saga’ could be worth a watch. It depicts true events, in which a commoner-turned-gangster Amartya Rao, whose dramatic rise in the Mumbai of nineties was marked by lawlessness, betrayal and bloody gang wars.
SANDEEP AUR PINKY FARAAR starts off on a thrilling note. The opening scene is filmed in one take and is almost 4-5 minutes long and the way it culminates is superb. The entry of Sandeep and Pinky in the narrative is also interesting. The scene where Sandeep breaks down in front of the old lady is moving while the scene where Sandeep and Pinky convince the old couple to let them stay in their house is sweet. After this point, the film goes downhill. The track of the corrupt bankers doesn’t really involve. In the second half, the only scene that arrests attention is when the bank manager, Sumit (Sukant Goel), attacks Sandeep. The climax is a letdown.
A politician (Mahesh Manjrekar) releases Amartya and takes him under his command, and from here, begins Amartya's rise as Gaitonde loses and Amartya rises to become the biggest gangster of Mumbai, and also marries Seema. 12 years later, Amartya brutally kills a famous industrialist Sunil Khaitan (Samir Soni), and his wife puts a reward of 10 crore on Amartya. No-nonsense Cop Vijay Savarkar (Emraan Hashmi) takes up the job and decides to put an end to Amartya's empire. Will he succeed in his mission? Watch the movie to find out. Sanjay Gupta's Mumbai Saga offers nothing new, it's like you're watching the upgraded version of Shootout at Wadala. The only things that keep you seated are the action sequences and the dialogues. Even Gupta's yellow colour which he puts almost in his every movie gets irritating. The movie is shot all in Mumbai, so the location is just good.
Director Sanjay Gupta is back with a great master stroke. We have been waiting for the Mumbai Saga movie starring Superstars John Abraham and Emraan Hasmi. The story of this movie is how the city of Bombay came to be known as Mumbai during the 80's and 90's. The main character of this story is John Abraham alias Amartya Rao, this is how he turns into a gangster for the family. How the famous ploitician of the city uses Amartya and what happens in the story of the end result is not all here or I said. All in all, those who like crime-thrillers will love this movie.
Mumbai Saga - the story of the city of Bombay becoming Mumbai. And with that, director Sanjay Gupta is back in the audience with the story of a common man Amartya Rao becoming a gangster. Of course, a movie with a story about a true event leaves a mark in our minds, with its action, acting, location, dialogue, favourite actor-actress, if there is a story, then the story becomes more roaring. The story of the movie goes on about the events that took place in Bombay in the 80s and 90s. The central character of the story, Amartya Rao, is an ordinary man. One day a well-known gang of thugs from a town called Gaitonde got into an argument with him over the collection of his money. The matter goes to jail but the problem does not end there. The powerful and well-known politician of the city, whom the whole city knows as Bhau, bails Amartya and asks him to work for him soon. As a result, Amartya formed his own gang with some of his trusted friends. In this way, the story of the movie continues little by little. Those who like to watch crime/thriller can take a look at them.
