Overacting all the way. Rajkumar Rao is just overacting. He is just dependent on good scripts for acting. Else he cannot carry with his performance. Jhanvi Kapoor OMG she is just terrible & over-hyped. She just can't act (has potential BTW IMO) . She is known only for looks. Saving part was only Varun Sharma he is just a saving entertaining part. Pathetic Direction & story writing along with the screen play is an insult to the Horror Universe First Part STREE
Hardik Mehta's direction is average at best. On the plus side, he handles some scenes with élan. Also, he sets the mood right, especially in the horror scenes. Even the various towns shown in the film are uniquely depicted. For instance, the bizarre bride kidnapping custom in Baagadpur, the spooky hills of Ambiyapur and the practice of desi exorcism in Chimmatipur add to the film’s novelty. On the flipside, the climax is disappointing. The film also ends on an abrupt note. One hopes that the makers would provide some backstory about Roohi’s past but that never happens. The same route was also followed in STREE [2018], where the mysterious girl’s (Shraddha Kapoor) track ends on a cliffhanger. In the case of ROOHI, it doesn’t make the same impact as STREE. Also, here the goings-on are rather confusing and the dialect is difficult to understand. Several dialogues are sure to go bouncer for many viewers.
Roohi delivered perfectly in both horror and comedy. A wonderful balance of hilarious comedy, well-timed shocks and a story that did enough to keep me more than interested. The two male leads were exceptional and stole the show, while Janvhi had minimal lines to really make any impact other than being scary. she played that role to perfection. Overall it was fantastic fun and the entire audience laughed out loud at multiple moments.
The only reason I watched this movie is because Rajkumar Rao did a tremendous job in Stree, but in this movie he did exactly opposite. Jahnvi Kapoor didn't really get to share the screen space much, Varun should join Kapil's show and stop doing movies. It might have been a different experience if Amar Kaushik would have directed the movie. It's a waste of money, disappointment and adds nothing to the Indian cinema.
This movie is a complete waste of time and money. Acting is terriible of every character. The dialogues are wague and neither funny nor scary. Nobody in the theater laughed. The story is random and incoherent, don't know what the scripwriter was smoking while writing this. A strictly no watch.
The movie has no story, no scare and no logic. The writing is so bad that it will make movie like Laxmi look like Oscar winner. I feel comedy should be 30% and horror 70% in every horror comedy but here it is opposite.Direction and screenplay is bad too. As far as acting is concerned Raj Kumar Rao was somewhat tolerable so is his boss in the movie.Varun Sharma did his best to ruin the interest of the audience in the movie. He was simply pathetic.Jhanvi did her best but script let her down.Only one song "Kiston" is good. Location of the jungle at night in the first half was good. Second half and climax was dud. Overall after a huge satisfaction from Stree, this one comes as the biggest disappointment of Bollywood.
Roohi is the first Bollywood movie released across all movie halls in India post- There are plenty of comic reliefs in the first half. However, I was not ok to see 'Pakdaai shaadi' shown in the movie. It made me feel a bit cringy about it and I hate cringy things. The saving grace was the duo of Rajkumar and Varun where I enjoyed their scenes. They look great buddies doing sill things, saying silly things. Specially Varun who has plenty of such silly lines. I did not like many of those lines but I liked his innocent act. However, I am still not able to digest his blind love for the Chudail side of Janhvi. Ye to too much hi ho gaya pandemic. I liked the end twist but again the execution is marred with clichés and stretched affair. Still, I feel that it will make you think and discuss it with your loved ones as the twist is something.
Rajkumar Rao and janvi Kapoor is on the screen for the first time with a horror comedy movie roohi . This movie is directed by Hardik . The movie screens the life of two village man who find themselves in the corner of the forest. They are frightened with the soul of one girl but they are already travelling with other. The movie is good and interesting .Rajkumar Rao just rock every character he plays. Overall awesome movie.
This story is especially for those who love to watch horror stories with comedy. If Rajkumar Roy is the comedian again, then there is nothing more to say. Director Hardik Mehta wants to show a strange horror story to the favorite viewers of horror. This is a horror story that shows a ghost kidnapping a bride on their honeymoon night. Maybe I heard a smile or having trouble believing! Of course, the rest of the story will be decided by the audience after watching the movie. Direction is not bad, it is too good. Acting will also go away. However, those who are quite fans of horror films will not have a choice.
