Direction: There were huge expectations from debutant director Prashant Singh as he is coming with some new concept. However he failed to maintain the momentum in the second half. First half was somewhat better and entertaining one. Performances: "Hasee toh Phasee" famed jodi paired as Jabariya jodi this time. Both were good in their characters till first half. In second half, they lost the track. Some great performances by supporting star cast. Javed Jaffrey did good job as Hukun Dev Singh. Sanjay Mishra was good in the role of Duniya Lal. Aparshakti Khurana did another good supporting role as Santosh AKA Sanno. Script: Sanjeev K jha came from Bihari background so he want to use local issue of Groom kidnaping as central idea of his script. Topic wise script was good in chunks, not as whole. After interval, script was running in rounds and round look like you will get the flavor of daily soap. Music: Again creativity issue with music section as lack of originality. Two old superhit songs "Khadke Glassy" and "Zila Hilela" reprised by various music directors and singers. Overall just avoid.
It's in a way insult to both ISRO, their mission and film making over all. Because you are basically emotionally manipulating people to get tangled to drama, situation of being driven by nationalism mood, using the real story, and release on a day where no one should question you action. Recipe for success shouldn't be defined by manipulating people emotionally. For an analogy, it's basically enemy is singing national anthem in front of emotionally driven army who are hiding during the time of war and then enemy is shooting those who raise up their heads to respect the song. So anyone who are standing up in the situation emotionally driven will surely going to get a head shot not to think practically and logically is the whole case of this movie. This I would call as Charlie Chaplin syndrome. (Check youtube "Charlie Chaplin - Shoulder Arms (1918) - Shooting scene" you will get it) All in all, save your hard earned monies and don't waste it on Mission Mangal.
This is the best patriotic movie I have ever seen. John and Mrunal have acted brilliantly. The direction and screenplay are top notch. Music too is outstanding. A must watch on the Independence Day. We always see the movies based on Army war and everyone forgets the police but Nikhil Advani has made the movie in a good and real story the case of Batla House and we can see John Abraham to be acting very strongly as the character of Sanjay Kumar and this movie should really win national award.
It started out funny and really good. It went in a great direction like how the new Jumanji stayed relevant to these times but then it just went bizarre. Eugenio Derbez is a horrible actor too so it made it worse. My family loved Dora growing up and they could have really made this funny. Isabela Monera is always fantastic. She carries this movie but unfortunately the bad acting, lack of adult humor and realistic storyline makes this movie impossible. Avoid at any cost.
