Sukanta posted a review for The Boys - Season 2 (Web Series 2020) in Movies
Extremely new concept & superb series!! It a superhero show that show's the reality if superheroes were true, how their life's would be & how the earth would look like. Most supershow show & movies are all about positivity, helping Others, fighting crime & all glamorous & good part's, But this show is entirely different & show a different aspects of superhero where superhero with powers of DC characters are been artificially made through drugging a serum to infants & superhero exists in large numbers like mutants & 7 among the crowd are choosen to be part of "Vought", a organisation that manages these heroes, all crime is pre-planted, all things are made up & The seventh has extremely egoistic characters. The Vought manages these heroes, markets their crime fighting ability, manages their public image like a celeb and sells protection & crime fighting skills to other nations. The Shows has lot's of blood, brutality, starting with a character like flash who's pumped up on performance drug's and crashes with a girl on footpath which bursts like a balloon with blood all over, its fun????, comedy, thrilling, sci-fi. The superheroes instead pf saving people don't care & go on a killing spree & the boyfriend of the dead girl along with starlight & butcher tries to outweigh good over bad. The depiction of the series has a very comedy punch to it, a thrilling and no bore theme, least drama not like cw show's! A lot is happening in a episode.

Sukanta posted a review for Tenet (2020) in Movies
Tenet is simply an incredible film with deep complex concepts to unravel well after the credits roll. Low ratings with criticism of the film's "over the top confusion" is more indicative of an audience that has been spoon-fed brainlessly simple ideas for far too long, than any legitimate flaw in Nolan sculpture of a flowing and seamless narrative thread. Despite its complexity (which I believe is an asset) the film is perfectly paced, the actors bring a fluid confidence that assures the audience that at the very least the characters understand "inversion" (even if we don't fully), and the cinematography and score also hold up their weight alongside the driving narrative. There is a understandable concern that the mix was not inducive to assisting the audience in understanding the various exposition dumps that occur throughout the film, however this could vary widely depending on the sound system used when viewing and in any event it did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the film. This is a film that challenges conventional story arcs, and was a breath of fresh air in a landscape that for years has featured repetitively unimaginative action films such as those presented under the Avengers franchise. Hopefully this movie gains the recognition it deserves and Nolan is rewarded for breaking the mould in difficult year for large-budget cinema-based films. Perhaps Tenet is demonstrating a brilliant stroke of commercial genius on Nolan's part; make a movie so confusing yet enjoyable that viewers MUST go back for a second viewing!

Sukanta posted a review for Mulan (2020) in Movies
This gorgeous movie is the classic remake of the Disney cartoon version of "Mulan" 22 years ago. The timeless oriental values of valour, loyalty and truthfulness were the central themes of the story. The 3 words, inscribed on the Hua's family sword, were oft repeated in the tone and character of the movie. Mulan offered herself to take her father's place to fight against the northern invaders as the emperor decreed that every male from a family has to be conscripted into the imperial army. It was an act of filial piety and sacrifice for her father and family, a virtue that is steeped in eastern culture. I like the opening scene where, as a young adventurous girl, she chased a chicken zealously, from scaling the roof tiles and doing aerial somersaults just to ensure that the chicken went into the coop, though her father tried in vain to stop her from going through such unbecoming stunts as it is natural for the chicken to run back to its coop????. Her bold adventurism did not earn the nods of approval from her neighbor's but her father was secretly proud of her bravery. That scene is very telling about the societal norms during that era, where girls have to behave like dainty and demure ladies who need to know their place in a male dominated society. What was interesting was that Mulan has a lot of "qi" or inner strength, probably acquired from years of martial arts training since she was a kid. She hid her "qi" from her male comrades in the army camp but accidentally revealed her fighting prowess during a sparring match with a fellow soldier. Her status as a skilled and fearless warrior was further cemented after she saved her regiment from being fire bombed by distracting the enemy and causing them to launch a fireball onto the snow mountain which triggered an avalanche. There were some creative elements in the plot where the evil scorceress played by the versatile Gong Li, was able to morph into different identities to plot the capture of the the emperor, played by Jet Li who looked like he has aged quite a lot????. Then, there was the charismatic commander played by Donnie Yen, who did not disappoint his fans with his taj chi and sword fighting skills. Though the veteran actors played their roles to the hilt, I was most impressed with Tzi Ma, who played the father of Mulan, Fa Zhou. He had a lot of inner emotions in his acting, really an under-rated actor
