Jaswanth posted a review for 100% Wolf (2020) in Movies
100% Wolf capitalises on familiar narrative threads to ensure that family fun is maintained. So get ready for familiar story elements from iconic films including The Lion King, How to Train Your Dragon and just a smattering of The Corpse Bride . By borrowing these elements, it ensures that it gets the young audience on board more easily. There’s also a lot of humour and heart pumped into 100% Wolf that works to disguise some of the weaker technical elements. The characters are cute enough for kids and grown-ups alike to fawn over, but it’s the really positive messages of believing in yourself and not judging people without getting to know them first, that make it so endearing. The desired result of 100% Wolf is to entertain the kids and whilst it might not be to older children’s tastes, it can (and did in this writer’s experience) keep the tinier ones enthralled.

Jaswanth posted a review for Scam 1992 (Web Series 2020) in Movies
There is a basic challenge that Hansal Mehta throws, while narrating the story of Big Bull Harshad Mehta. Instead of letting his story unfold through the mind games of his protagonist, which would have made the series lucid and enjoyable for all, he often tends to immerse the narrative in a mire of heavy stock market lingo and logistics. Perhaps Hansal Mehta was deliberately being uncompromising, to underline the fact that his 10-part web series is a rare Bollywood effort that truly tick-marks all criteria of the genre that Hollywood defines as the financial thriller. Yet, from Wall Street to Margin Call to Equity to The Wolf Of Wall Street -- you could even include Money Monster by a stretch -- we have seen enough instances where crime drama woven around money does not necessarily let money matters overwhelm the human factor of the story.

Even that reality-smashing threat isn’t enough for Nolan, though. The Protagonist has only just had his beginner’s crash course in time travel when he dashes off on a mission which doesn’t seem to have much to do with it. First, he has to break into an arms dealer’s heavily-guarded flat in Mumbai with the aid of a louche British fixer, Robert Pattinson, who deserves his own spin-off film. Then, he has to pop to a posh restaurant in London for a briefing with a bigwig played by Nolan’s lucky charm, Michael Caine (the character is named Sir Michael in homage). Then, he’s instructed to liaise with a sadistic Russian oligarch, Kenneth Branagh, who conducts his business meetings while skimming over the waves on a top-of-the-range high-speed catamaran. But in order to do that, the Protagonist has to help the oligarch’s wife, Elizabeth Debicki, get out of her marriage by ... errrr ... crashing a jumbo jet into Oslo Airport and stealing a forged Goya drawing. Got that? Once again, me neither. But it is obvious that Nolan didn’t think of a single scene without thinking how he could make it more excessive and expensive.

Jaswanth posted a review for Mulan (2020) in Movies
Good movie to watch! Based on traditional Chinese legend, Mulan sees the eponymous teen rebel, unable to fulfil servile wifely duties , attempt to save familial blushes by dressing as a man and becoming a war hero in the battle against the Hun.Ancient China is beautifully evoked and the film throws up compelling dramatic beats - the opening attack on the Great Wall Of China, Mulan donning her father's armour, the final showdown - that linger long in the memory. Best of all, though, is a Hun stampede down the slopes of a snowy mountain, fantastically energised by swooping camera work, that rivals the great David Lean in its exhilarating, epic sweep.
