The movie will appeal to fans of classic Godzilla films and those seeking a theatre screening of monster fighting crushing humanity. I went and seen the movie as a follow up of the previous contemporary western reboot of the franchise. Compared, I was expecting a decent script with decent characters. I was also scratching my head at felt-like reused Attack of the Clones stages, Pacific Rim and Tron Legacy props. The fight scenes are awesome. If you want a monster fight, you will enjoy the movie. But if you expect another chapter in the series with another decent script then be prepared this movie may not deliver.
This movie is everything that we wanted the 2017 version to be and so much more. Each character is portrayed so perfectly and have great character arcs. Cyborg and the Flash were my favorites. Superman and Steppenwolf were redeemed. The VFX and musical score were par for the course from Snyder, absolutely great for both. The tone feels much lighter than Snyder's other movies, the humor and team dynamics help with that a lot despite a darker story. The story feels the same at parts but others are so different that this becomes a radically different movie.
The only reason I watched this movie is because Rajkumar Rao did a tremendous job in Stree, but in this movie he did exactly opposite. Jahnvi Kapoor didn't really get to share the screen space much, Varun should join Kapil's show and stop doing movies. It might have been a different experience if Amar Kaushik would have directed the movie. It's a waste of money, disappointment and adds nothing to the Indian cinema.
This movie is beautiful to look at but the story is just meh. Comparing this to Moana makes it even worse. While I appreciate the diversity of the cast, they should have spent a bit more to get better voice actors and a better script. It does make me excited for the next movie they put out, hopefully they will spend more time on story.
A Poor remake. For a a film that is supposed to be a thriller it totally lacks tension, this is not helped by the lack of pace. The film is too slow. The acting was unconvincing. Kirti Kulhari as the police inspector is particularly poor. Pariniti Chopra was not much better. They want you to feel sorry for her character which does not work. Without revealing too much the ending really let's the film down. It should have stuck closer too the Hollywood original.
