A sterile film, without heart or soul. Story and plot incomprehensible to me, flat acting without strength, neither the ability to involve and excite. I see this film as an exercise in style that has gotten out of control. I loved Interstellar, but in Tenet I felt nothing but confusion, perplexity and disappointment. Technically nothing to complain, however. It may be enough for some that Tenet is a well-shot film, but for me it was a total disappointment.

Tenet is an exhilarating and mind-boggling movie to watch. It's about a secret agent who embarks on a dangerous, time-bending mission to prevent the start of World War III. This movie .......I don't know how to describe how I feel about it. I watched it yesterday and being honest I feel like I have a better understanding of the movie now than while I was watching it in time. And that's not a bad thing! Most of Christopher Nolan's films make me feel this way. This movie is very complex in a good way. There are so many layers and seeing them all unfold and intertwine during the movie was really interesting. I love the complexity of the characters too. Each new face you see on the screen, you pay close attention to. With, that being said, each character is well developed even the antagonist, Andrie Sator (Kenneth Branagh). My major pet peeve is when the quote on quote bad guy is just that ...a bad guy. Kenneth Branagh did a good job making me intrigued by the backstory of his character and trying to figure out his thinking. I also liked watching the scenes between his character and Kat (Elizabeth Debicki). You could always feel the tension between the two, and you believed whatever emotions they were acting out. It made you feel uncomfortable for Kat to be around Andrie, but that is the point. I think the arc that they gave Kat toward the end was great. I also loved the dynamic between Neil (Robert Patterson) and "The Protagonist" (John David Washington). They just clicked. You could see the blooming of friendship on-screen. I loved it. Now the action scenes in this movie are going to be talked about and analyzed for a long time. I think these scenes were what I enjoyed the most out of the whole movie. This movie changes the way you perceive and think about motion. The fights could be viewed in so many ways, and each would convey something totally different. And the cinematography. Not only was this a cool concept, but it was an aesthetically pleasing movie to look at. Every angle felt intentional, and it was so cool to see the way Christopher Nolan portrayed time going backwards on screen. Christopher Nolan's mind is beautiful. I think everyone should watch this movie sometime. If you like movies that have many layers and easter eggs, this is the movie for you. You won't stop thinking about this movie for days. Everything is connected; a never-ending loop.

Even that reality-smashing threat isn’t enough for Nolan, though. The Protagonist has only just had his beginner’s crash course in time travel when he dashes off on a mission which doesn’t seem to have much to do with it. First, he has to break into an arms dealer’s heavily-guarded flat in Mumbai with the aid of a louche British fixer, Robert Pattinson, who deserves his own spin-off film. Then, he has to pop to a posh restaurant in London for a briefing with a bigwig played by Nolan’s lucky charm, Michael Caine (the character is named Sir Michael in homage). Then, he’s instructed to liaise with a sadistic Russian oligarch, Kenneth Branagh, who conducts his business meetings while skimming over the waves on a top-of-the-range high-speed catamaran. But in order to do that, the Protagonist has to help the oligarch’s wife, Elizabeth Debicki, get out of her marriage by ... errrr ... crashing a jumbo jet into Oslo Airport and stealing a forged Goya drawing. Got that? Once again, me neither. But it is obvious that Nolan didn’t think of a single scene without thinking how he could make it more excessive and expensive.

What a movie man! Nolan you are like a gem in the hollywood industry. How can someone think of changing or retracing the same path of time in such a way, quite thrilling experience. Best acting and the scenes - man you bang it. I am a fan of your knowledge of world war and the time travel.

The Tenet is an excellent , intriguing Spy thriller: Mind blowing,Sci-Fi and espionage film by Christopher Nolan .The Cinematography is spectacular and the actors are amazing in their roles .The concept and meaning of TENET is also a palindrome which references the SATOR/ROTAS square ,an ancient cryptic puzzle with clues throughout the film concerning key characters, places and organizing principle

As usual its a pleasure to the eyes. Nolan has been doing it since more than decade now. Asking his audience to explore their senses and push its limits is a trademark of his. Here, the director again convinces you that you can't imagine the extent of his imagination

Tenet is simply an incredible film with deep complex concepts to unravel well after the credits roll. Low ratings with criticism of the film's "over the top confusion" is more indicative of an audience that has been spoon-fed brainlessly simple ideas for far too long, than any legitimate flaw in Nolan sculpture of a flowing and seamless narrative thread. Despite its complexity (which I believe is an asset) the film is perfectly paced, the actors bring a fluid confidence that assures the audience that at the very least the characters understand "inversion" (even if we don't fully), and the cinematography and score also hold up their weight alongside the driving narrative. There is a understandable concern that the mix was not inducive to assisting the audience in understanding the various exposition dumps that occur throughout the film, however this could vary widely depending on the sound system used when viewing and in any event it did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the film. This is a film that challenges conventional story arcs, and was a breath of fresh air in a landscape that for years has featured repetitively unimaginative action films such as those presented under the Avengers franchise. Hopefully this movie gains the recognition it deserves and Nolan is rewarded for breaking the mould in difficult year for large-budget cinema-based films. Perhaps Tenet is demonstrating a brilliant stroke of commercial genius on Nolan's part; make a movie so confusing yet enjoyable that viewers MUST go back for a second viewing!

If you're in the comments section of this trailer looking for some kind of review or insight into what kind of movie it is or what it's really about, don't bother. Just expect to be VERY confused by the first half of the movies. During the second half things begin to make more sense.. At the end of the movie, what ever you're still confused about, you will find answers in many videos on youtube titled "TENET movie explained." Then you can formulate your own opinion on whether it's a good movie or not.

This trailer is exactly why I don't watch trailers EVER. I went to all of Nolan's movies (Interstellar, Inception, Dunkirk, Batman) without watching a single trailer, haven't read anything about the movies and closed my eyes whenever there was something on the internet about it. Now seeing this trailer after I saw TENET, although the movie is complex enough by itself, all i want to say is "my oh my why do trailers like this exist". I had so much fun watching it not knowing anything abou the plot earlier and the whole concept of inversion was so incredibly fresh that I wish i could go back in time to see it once more. Please stop doing trailers like this. Don't spoil the fun...

Tenet is a practically perfect (re)introduction to the big screen. Whether audiences are ready – where safe – to return to cinemas en masse is another question entirely. Certainly, Tenet’s a more challenging film than some may be comfortable with after a five-month absence, but this is an all-too-rare example of a master filmmaker putting everything on the table with, you sense, not a modicum of his vision compromised. The stakes have never been higher, but Tenet is exactly the film cinemas need right now.

The world is about to end and the time is ticking, but backwards. Well, for most part. Writer-Director Christopher Nolan’s mysterious magnum opus is a film full of an eventuality that feels quite surreal in the precarious times we live in. ‘Tenet’ opens with a bang as a packed National Opera House in Kiev is invaded and is about to be blown to bits. This is a pre-cursor to quite a few such instances that infuse a dose of action and excitement even when the film’s rather convoluted plot might bog you down. But that said, the overarching idea of its plot is fairly simple. It’s about saving the world from an insanely powerful Russian arms dealer Andrei (Kenneth Branagh), who could go back and forth in time. Now, the idea is to beat him at his own game. But in execution, ‘Tenet’ is every bit the high-concept, make-believe and far-fetched flight of imagination that blends action, adventure and intrigue. And Christopher Nolan manages to use many of these opportunities quite effectively. Our hero John David Washington (known only as the Protagonist) is explained the concept of ‘temporal inversion’ and sent off on a top-secret mission to save the world. He is joined by his British counterpart Neil (Robert Pattinson), whose origins remain a mystery throughout. The mission takes him places including Mumbai, where he breaks into a wealthy arms dealer’s house for information where his wife Priya (Dimple Kapadia), gives him cryptic leads that cannot always be trusted. But it’s only when he meets Andrei’s estranged wife Kat (Elizabeth Debicki) that he realizes the full potential of just how complex and diabolical the situation is. The film’s screenplay keeps underlining and explaining its layered plot about technology that can reverse time. Thankfully, it does so with stunning cinematography (Hoyte Van Hoytema) and action-packed scenes that are executed with a natural flair and finesse. The idea of going back in time where everything moves in reverse, creates a visually appealing imagery. And the original background score (Ludwig Göransson) is so unique and immersive that it builds just the right amount of urgency and tension. Everyone is quite aptly cast including Dimple Kapadia, who lends a certain gravitas to her enigmatic character of a powerful Indian woman. She would much rather offer her husband’s assassin a drink and pacify him than panic at the sudden break-in. Her role is not only crucial but also quite fascinating in the way she deals with the Protagonist. Robert Pattinson is charming but remains strictly in a supporting role, never overshadowing the Protagonist, played quite effectively by John David Washington. John’s brooding persona and no-nonsense dialogue delivery is impactful. Elizabeth Debicki is honest in her part as an abused wife held to ransom by her chauvinist husband, but could have been more convincingly written. Kenneth Branagh’s character of Andrei is quite the caricature of a Russian Mafioso with a typical accent and snarling dialogue delivery. Just like most Nolan films, this one too demands full attention from its viewer, yet there is no guarantee you will comprehend the film’s nuanced narrative in its totality. But that doesn’t take away from enjoying the cinematic experience of Nolan’s vivid imagination that is skillfully portrayed on the big screen. The secret to enjoy ‘Tenet’ lies in what a scientist, who is explaining inversion tells the Protagonist, "Don't try to understand, feel it."

This movie has some of the most dazzling and mind bending action I have ever seen in a movie. This really is unlike anything i have ever seen before. The premise of how "inversion" in this movie works is very intriguing and not just a gimmick. The tension and pacing never really drops, the score is phenomenal and the atmosphere of the movie is so unique. It is a thrill ride from start to finish. The acting is also great, especially from John David Washinton who plays the protagonist and Kenneth Branagh who plays a very compelling and rememberable villain. The plot was complex with many twists and turns, but it was pretty hard to follow at some times.

You can outrun the combination of Christopher Nolan and his movies. After the Dunkirk movie I was a fan of his direction and everything. John David Washington and Robert Pattinson did a really great job in the movie. Lighting and the visuals of the movie are exceptionally awesome. I was just excited and couldn't believe the scenes at some point in the movie. Its just worth watching his movie after so many years. I would really suggest all of the fans to just go and have a watch to the movie .

Some movies are watched due to the talented actors and some of them are watched because of directors like Christopher Nolan . He is just a brilliant person . Movie tenet is directed brilliantly, all of the things. He just uses the original aspects without the CGI and just original content. Robert Pattinson does exactly the best job for what he is known and including actor David is an excellent combination. It's actually an AI based movie including different biological substance and about the upcoming technology. I would guarantee its a worth watching masterpiece.

The master of filmmaking is back again. Yes, everyone is hearing the right answer. Great director Christopher Nolan is back with a hi-fi action movie called Tenet. The story is about a secret agent who will come forward to save the world before the start of World War III. The direction of this movie is very good, the special effects, dialogues, graphics are shown quite well. Directed by: Christopher Nolan Rating: PG-13 Duration: 2 hours 30 mins Genre: Action, Sci-Fi Release Date: 03/09/2020 Cast: John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki & many more My Verdict: Plot - 4/5 Soundtrack - 4/5 Characters - 4/5 Directions - 4/5

In my opinion this movie is a remarkable effort at breaking new ground in regards to both editing and photography. My friends personally had a lot of positive remarks regarding the score of the film, but I found myself too engrossed in the spectacle of the film to afford the score adequate attention. I’ve been seeing people complain about the sound drowning out conversational points in the movie. As a guy that has physician recognized hearing damage, it really wasn’t a problem for me, so take that at your discretion. Tenet is certainly an extremely ambitious project even for a director like Nolan, who will use any means necessary to achieve his vision. The film is supposedly shot using zero green screens, not to mention less CGI than most romcoms, and it really shows.

A must watch. Movie like this should come a lot. Not only entertaining but educating the audience. At the same time the movie and scenes keep running in my mind even after i watch. It keep getting clearer and clearer when I think. I should say this is an absolute masterpiece and original from Christopher Nolan or I should say Mr.Masterpiece. Engaging story line with theoretical physics, some great actions, great star casting and performances, musics and the direction and execution is marvelous. I don't want to give any spoilers but again it is a must watch. Clear up your mind and bladder and sit for 2.5 hours without focusing anything except the movie, you going to experience what I've experienced.

Absolutely brilliant. There are no words to describe this movie. On the first watch its great, and on the second watch its a masterpiece. The plot is an intricately laid out puzzle, and the movie itself is like origami, which unfolds itself as the story progresses. Any negative reviews are most likely because they weren't able to understand the plot, but watching it twice or managing to figure it out is extremely rewarding. Even the character development is perfect. They are agents who are supposed to be ready to die at any moment, and so it makes perfect sense to not know much about the protagonist. Its Nolan most intense and grand ride, and it does not disappoint. Definitely a must watch for all cinema lovers. The massive scale, score, and visuals are all absolutely stunning. Experience it in cinemas, on a big screen, it is an experience that deserves that.

Tenet is the noisiest most obnoxious film I've ever sat through. The 'plot' as near as I could see, is something to do with with the world ending because in the future someone invented a way to inverse time so objects can move backwards through time in strange ways. Ergo, people, cars, bullets etc. It is a terrible, barely comprehensible mess. At times the deafeningly awful music is only made worse by endless loud shootouts and car chases that literally drown out the dialogue. But although that gave me a headache that's not the worst part. Kenneth Branagh plays a Ukrainian Oligarch villain and puts in the worst performance of his life. A golden raspberry is guaranteed for his growling, gurning performance that comes across as more camp than threatening. The lead protagonist is played John David Washington, who was so brilliant in Black Klansman, here he looks hopelessly lost, mouthing incomprehensible dialogue that he clearly doesn't understand amid the chaos. I will never watch another Christopher Nolan film. I would only recommend Tenet to people who enjoy headaches, feeling confused and being cheated out of several hours of their life I didn't like this movie!
