Such a beautiful film! Alia looks marvellous. The acting is just PERFECT. She's proven that she can do a film or any genre and excel at any role. From Shanaya in SOTY to Sehmat! Simply OUTSTANDING ! And hats off to Meghana Gulzar to give our hindi film industry such a masterpiece :)
Raazi is a brave and honest attempt at highlighting the futility of war, that it knows no emotions or feelings or relationships, that it knows no right or wrong, that it is just blind and brutal. The film also makes us question our sense of patriotism especially in these times when, what we eat or what we wear, weirdly reflects the love for our country. It takes a mature, liberal and an emotionally advanced director like Meghna Gulzar to take a heroic story of an unsung hero like Sehmat (played by Alia Bhatt), that starts with a rather dramatic love for her 'vatan' and ends on a human note, screaming and begging for humanity.

A movie dedicated to the unsung hero’s who sacrifice their love, emotion family and everything for the nation . The film drives on strong content and is gripping from its very start to the end and stitched along with strong performances by Alia Bhatt and the ensemble cast. A movie worth watching in the cinemas and Bollywood Definetly needs more movies like this so Definetly watch this as you would return back with a happy feeling and patriotic chills .
Raazi is a movie about intelligence operations conducted by secret team with sehmat being the main agent for finding information about ghazi attack. It's very well written and screenplay is done in such a way that every aspect regarding intelligence operations and it's hardships are covered. Alia bhatt as sehmat is main lead of the movie and shows strength in emotional scenes. Ae watan song sung by arijit is wonderful addition to movie as its pumping patriotism in our hearts while watching the movie. I rate this 4 out 5 as it kept me wondering how a sehmat makes through tough times being around Pakistani army family and captures information. I specifically loved idea of use of morse code (dots and dashes) used in that time to transfer intelligence information.
What a bold look shown by Alia Bhatt steals the show with a sterling performance that makes her a strong contender for a national award. The portrayal of her relationships with her husband and inlaws in a situation that seems more intriguing than any intrigue is appaling. There are moments both poignant and purgatorial. But the narrative holds you in its thrall. The music by Shankar Ehsan and Loy is soothing. One has watch it to feel what differentiates it from the other movies of the same genre
An untold story.Alia did a fantabulous job. She is the perfect choice for the role. A young innocent (even 'dumb' to some extent) looking girl whom no one would suspect as a spy, rather would love as their own. Isn't it her best work yet? Meghna Gulzar nailed this movie in many ways. Kept it so real. No bollywood masala. No irrelevant song sequences or item songs. All songs and music perfectly blended with the plot.
Shaken, moved, scared! I don't remember watching such a realistic spy movie made in Bollywood. Such a relief after filmy 'Tiger Zinda Hai', weirdly ended 'Aiyaari' and loud over patriotic 'Hero' (remember that Sunny Deol - Preity Zinta movie?). I lost myself in Sehmat's character. How can a person be so brave, courageous, self-less? Doing what's necessary for the country, yet tormented while crossing the line of humanity. What this character experienced throughout the movie kept me on the edge. Every moment felt like the moment that'd expose her.
All on the scale of 5 Story - 3 Screenplay - 2 Acting - 4 (Alia/Vicky/Jaideep/Rajit) Direction - 2.5 Movie could have been a lot better if the director would have paid attention to more investigation and understanding & recreating that era. After watching Talvar, one was shocked and awed with the minute details that we're revealed in the movie and made us think a lot about the whole system. During the movie (Raazi) you feel like laughing at small small things and make you ask the question"who is the director?" And knowing it's Meghana Gulzar who directed Talvar, makes you ask again "really?"
Hello so finally watched Raazi...... Such an amazing movie..... And must watch. Alia did such a great job. I recommend watching this movie.... Such an heart touching one. Never knew alia would pull off such a character but she did it brilliantly.. She did an Amazing job
I am really surprised to see alia bhatt in this role. Awesome film. The film is about daughter who marries a pakistani to keep up her fathers mission of saving the nation So she goes ahead with a motive to spy on them and get their intentions and plans clear , in this verge a lot of events, secrets unfold and a lot of dangers come her way , now what is that all about and what is the final outcome does she succeed in finding the plan and save INDIA that is what the movie is all about .
The film is admirable also because it’s a measured, mostly intelligent thriller that asks us to consider concepts of patriotism and honor without spoon-feeding us with manipulative background music or provocative dialogue. It’s well paced, and set to a thouhgtful score by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy that never distracts from the drama.
It won't be wrong to say that it's one of the most fiercely patriotic films you'll ever see. That a female star holds centre stage makes for a welcome change. Alia Bhatt’s histrionics alone are worth the price of the ticket.Production design and costume design are to the point and the use of vintage cars and stock footage adds to the film. It's been shot and edited well and doesn't actually sets a foot wrong overall.
Fantastic movie. Alia is the soul of the film. You can feel the strain she undergoes of being a field agent, laying aside all humane feelings and knowing well she may have to pay the ultimate sacrifice. Her reaction shots while inside the Brigadier's household are breathtaking indeed. You clap when her patriotism come to the fore, when she points out that all that matters to her is serving her country.
Meghna's direction is brilliant in that it manages to fit the long story in little over two hours. Raazi is a well-made film which doesn't shove forceful emotions down our throat but instead lets us soak them at our pace. Alia Bhatt yet again proves she is one of the best female leads we have in Bollywood at the moment. Kudos to Alia for picking up the right films to prove her versatility.
First thing that came to my mind after watching this master piece is hats off to alia bhatt for her fine sense of acting level. This movie is quiet awesome and must watch spy thriller movie for youths. Its one of the best Indian spy movie ever watch. The story content and screenplay of the movie is very impressive. Specially the suspense thrilling moments of the movie will not allow you to blink your eyes . The dilbaro song was the icing on the cake and it's dedicated to her . The movie shows simply how the countless unsong heros of our country sacrifice their life and happiness for the sake of our country and us and don't comprise with the country whatever situation come in their path. So it's a worth watching film for every one to show our respect to those unknown heros of our nation ...
It is a very Inspiring movie for all the youngsters out there which tells you the way in which you can be faithfull nd important devoted towards your country. Asit speaks of a Girl who crossed the border against her own will eventually turned about to be the life saviour for the entire nation. The difficult task's carried out by her to retrive information about the pakistan's attack in 1971 which was a marine war but the skills she learnt to tackle the problem where helpful in the end. A brave women who fought pricelessly and stood courageus for whatsover came in her path. Also the most lively song from a daughter dedicated to her was 'Dilbaro' which has a great depth of meaning. Simply outstanding movie and a must watch for everyone
Raazi Is a Best thrilling movie. It is the story of a girl Who become spy, but the story plot is slightly different and the turns that movie story take are really well conducted. Really a amazing movie . I will give 4 stars for its story and direction. Thank You!
Raazi is a thrilling tale, about a girl who first becomes a spy, and then deals with the consequences of it, told unflinchingly without resorting to any gimmickry, just good old-fashioned storytelling. The movie will be really great as it is based upon war 1971
Tired of boy meets girl love stories, this is great relief and makes you feel that we can make spy movies no less gripping than any Hollywood movie. The tension was so high in the second part that I felt I should take a break for a couple of minutes. Alia is excellent and literally carried the whole movie, no words to describe her performance.
If last week 102 Not Out was like a fresh breeze take on life which lingered long after coming out of the cinema hall, making you in total love for the world of the old father son duo, Raazi takes a serious route on life, dissecting the concept of nationalism and how ill founded and belittling it could be for humanity. Unlike 102 Not Out, Raazi does not give you any answer or solution but leaves u with a question in mind...A question whose answer is really difficult as the world is not so utopian. We all want peace between India and Pakistan, war is destroying us. A good huge amount of our revenue, tax which we pay is spent just on preparing for wars and buying arms...just for war. Our maturity as a nation is no where near European nations who hardly spend so much on buying arms hoping for some war with neighbors, their borders are unmanned and porus. One Visa works for all barring a few. The same money, energy, emotion r used for constructive activities. And we fools buy arms from them to destroy our worlds! We also hope that someday like East and West Germany or North and South Korea, India and Pakistan wld again reunite and live peacefully....But a nation whose foundation itself was on the wrong corrupted pretext of communal hate and isolation, in the garb of religion, corrupt political aspirations for power was the sole intention to give birth of Pakistan from the womb of India....Reunion sometimes looks distant ...As frustrating as the condition of the lead protagonist of this movie, Sahmat. A Kashmiri innocent girl who is married to a pakistani high command brigadier's family as a plant to spy and get most important information during 1971 war. The movie showcases how she fights with her human instincts and goes as far as ruining the family and her loved ones there on the name of national duty...for people who only understand war and consider it superior to everything...Above every human existence and emotion. The movie successfully shows how hollow are the concepts of nationality, boundaries made on the pitch of political and other modes of division and how much it can suffocate a sane clean human soul. Every artist has done a great job, be it Jaideep Ahlawat as the spy boss or Rajit Kapoor as nationalist father, or all those playing pakistani family parts...All did great job. Vicky Kaushal as husband of Alia Bhatt and duty bound pakistani officer leaves terrific impact. One dialogue as a lost soul between love and "national duty" of him haunts: " Kya humare beech me kuch bhi sach ka tha..kuch bhi"? But the shining star is Alia Bhatt who perfectly captured the turmoil of war with self, a person whose family was nationalist but as she went to the depth, her confrontations with human values and traits compels her conscience to get everyday burdened with a guilt of doing something which goes totally against the founding idea of humanity. Movie has good cinematography and OK direction. Screenplay is sharp and fast. No drag moment and full of thrill. Script could be a bit more refined. There is no justification given for such blind nationalism that a family jeopardizes its such a young kid. The movie is good, no doubt, but not better than 102 Not Out. Unlike 102 not out, you don't carry the movie nor any character to your home. You don't feel happy but a bit sad for Sehmat and the kind of hopelessness hangs between India and Pakistan. We r currently passing through such a gloomy time with so many negative news that we want some movies like 102 Not Out to give us fresh breath, energy, and tonic to recharge and feel better. Some Answers. Not something which frustrates and leaves us with a question without solution. Picture is good but does not suit the mood of present. It ends with a tragic note of vacuum and loneliness. Finally, 2018 appears to be a promising year in terms of movies .. be it 102 not out, or October or this one..Or those coming soon like Parmanu or Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. This year is definitely good in terms of quality movies.
very well narrated movie by meghna gulzar.i can say one of alia's best performance.it is a story about a girl who became spy.alia gave her best in this movie.vicky kaushal also suits his role.the story is good and keeps you focused.overall its a gud family movie.
A beautifully narrated drama thriller by miss meghna gulzar and amazingly protrayed by alia bhatt. Raazi is a film about a women and her struggles and how she becomes a spy . A very neat and clean family film all the actors played their role very well but alia bhatt is star of the film she plays her character beautifully. Overall a nice movie my rating 4/5.
One of the best films of alia bhatt simply outstanding. The title raazi absolutely fits to this movie very gripping drama thriller. All the casts played their role perfectly but alia bhatt as lead absolutely nailed in all three character be it daughter, wife, spy just brilliant.Overall it is a good movie not for everyone but still i would recommend for a one time watch just for alia bhatt who is the heart and soul of this movie. My rating 4/5 stars.
Basically the movie is an emotional spy thriller where Alia steals the show with her effortless portrayal of the role of an Indian spy; the authenticity which she lends to her part is terrific- one of her finest performances so far. Don't miss this one- superb !!
Raazi is all about a girl, Sehmat who is married in Pakistan during the Indo-Pak War. She is a spy and hence sent to Pakistan to keep a check on the country and report to India. She comes from a family where her father and grandfather worked to forward the independence of India. Being the only daughter, when she get to know that her father would die within next 3 months, she takes on to replace him to protect India.
this movie is really awesome .The type of role Alia Bhatt played in this movie is outrageous and really appreciable .really she is one of the best actress of this era and it awesome to see her playing role confidential and intended. the film moves around the India Pakistan war time when both were on the verge of dividence and then the father of Alia Bhatt send her to Pakistan by marrying her in a high society family but she went there to find secrets clues for India awesome movie
