Piyu posted a review for Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) in Movies

This made Wonder Woman herself my favorite superhero for the longest time, and she still is one of my favorites alongside Aquaman, Thor, Captain America, and Spider-Man. As well as this, this is easily one of my favorite movies of 2017 along with Thor: Ragnorok, and Cars 3. The movie has been criticized by Marvel fans for stealing Captain America: The First Avengers plot line, but I actually haven't seen that movie yet (I watched the sequels first), so I don't really care. This movie is really fun to watch with stunning visuals, and great action scenes. The story itself even had some mirror images to the story of the Gospel that attentive Christian viewers will be able to spot, which is a very nice touch for a superhero movie. Diana herself is impossible not to like, she's very curious about the outside world she becomes exposed to and is very optimistic, as well as being a great role model not just for young girldps but for teens and adults as well since she never loses her faith in humanity. I wouldn't be surprised if if this movie took some inspiration from Disney's Enchanted or Will Ferrel's Elf, since they play those parts of the story very well between Diana and Steve Trevor. I will admit, Diana and Steve's relationship could, arguably be better written, but it's still really good for what we see in the movie. Diana's group of friends include an aspiring Hispanic actor, a somewhat troubled Scotsman, and a Native America, all participating in WW1 alongside Trevor and Diana. The story is very well written, even if it may borrow some plot lines from other movies. I haven't even mentioned everything there is to mention about the movie, but to sum up, it has a great setup, memorable characters, an intelligent main antagonist, a great protagonist, a fun action. I recommend Wonder Woman all the way to any comic or superhero fan, as well as any fan of world war films.
