Soorma which means brave is biopic of Sandeep Singh or dragflicker.... Diljit has done full justice to his role... I watched first day first show first time till my 24years journey and it was a ryt choice Tapsee Pannu is the perfect choice she proved it... Angad was also awesome as a supporting actor.. Especially song Good Mann diii.. It will surely bring smile over audience's face... Motivation, romance, family support , heart break, absence of never say no attitude... Movie has all the flavors which are expected of a hit picture.. Usually biopics aren't that interesting but this one approx 2 hours one gonna enjoy as well as learn from every single moment.. Thing that AI loved the most was Sandeep Sir fulfilled his bro s desire and got selected in Indian Hockey team ultimately making his whole family happy and proud.. Hockey is national game of our country but People are not aware much about it's players, rules their achievements etc. This movie hopefully would have provided some knowledge and instilled desire among masses towards hockey. Also even after when Doctor gave up Sandeep singh didn't and his burning desire to play and support from government is highly praisable from where came name Soorma Title song is also very motivational... Family is everything this movie proved I request everyone to watch Tedex Drag flicker Sandeep Singh speech before watching movie.. At the end I would like to wrap up saying I fully utilized my two hours by watching it and a request to parents plz encourage your kids to watch such movies after all child is the father of the nation..thank you Jai hind!
Stories about Sports icons are customized for motivation. The whole idea of succeeding against all odds commands is glory. I don't claim to have much knowledge of the game but Soorma takes it for granted. Hockey is not particularly cinematic to watch. Chirantan Das's flatly shot sequence are anything but break through and fail to whip up any excitement. But Daljit Dosanjh's striking self - possession , like the champion he's portraying, does not let it come in the way of a performance that screams " GOAL ".
#Soorma - A brilliant tale of an Indian Hockey player who is a victim of a freak shooting accident and redeems his position in the Indian Hockey team after recovering from paralysis. A unique story of human will power that needed to be told. Diljit Dosanjh, Vijay Raaz, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Tapsee Pannu have done a good job. However the film has amateurish execution. A lot of focus is put on Sandeep Singh's pre-accident days and on villainizing the first coach and little on his practise sessions and how he made a recover. This movie could have been much better, but I would still recommend it because it is a wonderful story which needs to reach everyone.
Bollywood's affections for sports biopic proceeds with " Soorma " , and it is the second Bollywood film based on hockey after Shah Rukh Khan's "Chak De ! India ". Punjabi Superstar Diljit Dosanjh plays the life of Ex- Captain on the Indian National Hockey team, Sandeep Singh. Diljit persuades me with his depiction of a hockey player , though i'm a big fan of his Punjabi Tracks. In spite of it's minor flaws , "Soorma" is a film made with mind and a story that should be viewed by all.
I have seen the movie its not that great. Acting is also average. The story is as usual how a sportsmen struggles but here he was paralyzed. I suggest not a great movie to watch.'Soorma' is a fairly enjoyable sports drama which despite a few underwhelming factors is uplifted by Diljit Dosanjh's earnest performance.
Great watch, loved the biopic, one of the few real-life sports story's which deserves a telling. Soorma tells us of the tale of one of the greats of Indian hockey, Sandeep Singh. His life journey has double the struggle and inspiration as compared to other sportsmen due to a mishap just when his career was taking off. This would have been a very different movie if it had a bigger budget, a more refined director and a more polished actor in the lead. For sure it would have been a more energizing & exciting watch, what I am not sure about is if it would still have has the emotional appeal, if it would justify Sandeep Singh's story. His story is of tragedy and struggle and Shaad Ali's direction and Diljit Dosanjh lead carries it in an appropriate manner without the Bollywood's sensationalizing effect. On that note, I for one would have enjoyed more of Vijay Raaz's portrayal as the Dabangg Bihari Coach.
In case there is one thing I picked up from Soorma is to base on the work you are doing. Do it for the joy it offers in itself and not as an approach to achieve something one of a kind. When I saw the trailer for Soorma, I earnestly trusted that it is another Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Turns out it is that way and some more. The garments to newly discovered riches story of Soorma is a set case. You will see a few scenes of beforehand, a vital crossroads and after that a half year to a period of getting ready montage and a short time later the sportsperson playing out his or her best on a stage that issues. Everyone is lively. By no means whatsoever, I am heathen of the sportspersons, yet the illustration is obviously old. Soorma is all that and some more. Soorma, being established on a bona fide story, is immensely motivational. It has minutes that restore trust in humankind and moreover minutes which impact you to address about the state of recreations other than cricket. It is hard to state how it is assorted without giving spoilers. It helped me to recollect Kung Fu Panda and the way Shifu trains Po. His readiness is framed through his reverence for sustenance and here, Soorma's arrangement shapes through the friendship for his life. Towards the end both comprehend that their affirmation is in the exhibition itself and not in the triggers that realized them. A great movie that's definitely worth a watch.
The film keeps that crucial spirit to the fore when it starts off. Till Sandeep is shown as a regular guy supporting his older brother who is the hockey player (Bedi) with promise and with an eye on the India jersey, gently flirting with a pretty girl, and generally being a good son, Soorma stays believable, and watchable. Awesome movie
Nice movie with a story of a great legend. Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is perfectly cast as Sandeep and shines in his portayal of a carefree dreamer turned determined sportsman. His love interest cum inspiration Harpreet is played by Tapasee Pannu. She has the perfect physique required for the role of a national hockey player and is an absolute delight on screen. Angad Bedi is outstanding as Bikramjeet, Sandeep's older brother. I am surprised that he hasn't been cast in a lead role yet. He definitely has what it takes. Satish Kaushik as the father and Vijay Raaz as his coach Harry leave an unforgettable mark in their supporting roles. In fact, the supporting cast has some of the best scenes and punchlines.
Soorma is designed as a story of good yet tough guys: good players, good Samaritans and good administrators. There isn’t much of a conflict. We always know where it is heading.Soorma doesn’t attempt to probe beyond the obvious, even if you don’t know the real story. With 131-minute duration, Soorma presents Sandeep as the ultimate boy scout. A tinge of reality wouldn’t have hurt.
